From Pit To Track: NASCAR Tips
There are a bunch of tips of the trade when riding your car on the track or even staying in the pit for a bit to get a refreshed start.
One thing to look out for is your spotter. A lot of times it’s really hard to get movement or see exactly what’s going on around you. The spotter can tell you from a distance exactly what’s going on like how far ahead you are from everyone else, and whether a certain racer is using a method that’s helping him speed up faster than the rest.
Another tip is getting the right kind of handle. It’s best to test these out at practice, so you can get near or at top speed. Working out the wedge before the race will help you become more comfortable and have a stronger race. This is often pivotal during a pit stop to help you loosen or tighten the steering wheel for adding or subtracting wedge.
There are times you won’t be able to finish a lap because of repairs. Don’t worry about that because you can always do a make up lap and might even have time to do another just to finish the race.
